Additional Information Sound Galaxy (Washington) Device Driver version 1.00 For OS/2 Warp 3.0 A. Installation of Sound Galaxy (Washington) OS/2 Warp Device Driver ================================================================= I. For Non-existence of other Audio Adapters -------------------------------------------- In the process of installing OS/2 Warp with the sound card in the system, the "Multimedia Device Support" under "System Configuration" screen will display "Sound Blaster Pro (MCV or OPL3)". This has to be removed before installing the Sound Galaxy Sound Card device driver. Please follow the following steps : (N.B. Skip steps 1 to 5 if OS/2 Warp has already been installed). 1. Click at the icon beside the "Multimedia Device Support" when the "System Configuration" screen pops up during the installation process. 2. Remove the Drivers from the "Device[s] in System to be install". 3. Select O.K. The [None] option will be shown at the "Multimedia Device Support". 4. Select O.K again and continue with the rest of the instruction to complete the installation of OS/2 Warp. 5. Shut down and reboot the system after the installation is completed. 6. Select from the Multimedia folder. 7. Insert Sound Galaxy OS/2 Warp Audio Driver Diskette in drive A: or B:. 8. Change the source drive to where the Sound Galaxy OS/2 Warp Audio Driver diskette is. (i.e. A:\ or B:\). 9. Highlight "Sound Galaxy" feature and then select "Install". 10. Select "YES" in "Change CONFIG.SYS" dialog box and continue with driver installation. 11. Select "1" when the system prompts you to select the number of Sound Card. 12. It is recommended that you use the default settings when the Sound Galaxy Sound Card Installation screen appears. 13. System will then update the CONFIG.SYS file, and please follow the on screen instructions to continue the installation. 14. Shut down and reboot the system after installation is completed. II. For existence of other Audio Adapters ----------------------------------------- If any Audio Device Driver is currently installed, it has to be removed before installing the Sound Galaxy Sound Card Device Driver. Refer to the corresponding audio adapter manual or readme.txt for more details. For example, if Sound Blaster Pro device driver is installed, the following lines must be removed from the respective files. CONFIG.SYS file Device=C:\MMOS2\SBP2D2.SYS 1 1 5 220 4 /N:SBAUD1$ Device=C:\MMOS2\AUDIOVDD.SYS SBAUD1& MMPM2.INI file [Drivers] Waveaudio = IBMWAVESB01 Sequencer = IBMSEQSB01 Ampmix = IBMAMPMIXSB01 After all the previously loaded audio device driver has been removed and the system rebooted, follow steps 6 to 14 in Part I to install the Sound Galaxy Sound Card Device Driver. B. De-installation of Sound Galaxy (Washington) OS/2 Warp Device Driver ==================================================================== To de-install the Sound Galaxy Device Driver, the following lines must be removed from the respective files. CONFIG.SYS Device=C:\MMOS2\AZT16DD.SYS /B:530 /D:0 /I:10 /M:1,330,5 /N:AZT161$ Device=C:\MMOS2\SGAUDVDD.SYS AZT161$ MMPM2.INI file [Drivers] Waveaudio = IBMWAVEAZT1601 Sequencer = IBMSEQAZT1601 Ampmix = IBMAMPMIXAZT1601 C. Installation of Sound Galaxy (Washington) WIN-OS/2 Device Driver ================================================================ Please note that any previously installed Windows sound card driver has to be removed before installing the WIN-OS/2 driver. 1. Open the WIN-OS/2 folder from the OS/2 SYSTEM COMMAND PROMPTS folder. 2. Open the CONTROL PANEL from the WIN-OS/2 MAIN Group. 3. Double click on the DRIVERS icon. 4. Choose the "ADD" button to add a new driver. 5. Highlight the "Unlisted or Updated Driver" item and then select the "OK" button. 6. Enter the drive and the path (i.e A:\WIN_OS2) in the Install Driver windows and then select "OK" button. 7. Highlight the "16-bit Audio Driver" in the list windows and press "Enter" to continue. 8. Use the default setting in 16-bit Audio Board setup windows. 9. Select "Restart Windows Now" to restart the Windows in order for the added driver to take effect. Note : As WIN-OS/2 is not 100% compatible with Microsoft Windows Sound System, there might be problems encountered when running Voyetra application like Audiostation and MIDI Orchestrator in WIN-OS/2 platform. To play WAV or MIDI files, please use MediaPlayer in WIN-OS/2 instead. ------------ The End -------------
